What do you establish?
Would you rather establish in a woman's mind that you are an entertainer or man looking for companionship? You're choice. For this we are going with a man looking for eternal companionship. You rock that companionship like you're the only kid on the block with Twinkies still in his cupboard! OH YEAH!
How do you establish this?
Well this is where you have to put some thought and effort and decide what it is you want and how that is best brought about. You'll want to find ways to indirectly and directly send signals to those you date. For example, if you are overly touchy on a first date, that could easy say you're just looking for trouble and dangerous fun. Reading up on a few talks from lds.org and books on eternal marriage would do wonders! Remember to ponder on what you read and about what you could do that would send a message to your future sweet heart of (without directly stating) "I'm looking for love, and the eternal kind".
After establishing you're looking for eternal companionship and not eternal enslavement, or eternal maid service, or eternal house wive. Then and only then proceed to keeping it simple.
How simple?
What do you define as simple? Have you tried quantifying simple? Lets do this.Atmosphere for good conversation ( no loud noises or chatter) - Check
Keep the date short (no longer then 1 maybe 2 hours) - Check
Have a plan B so when things rock you can just keep on rocking! - Check
Don't spend more then $0-$10 - Check
Do something you enjoy that you can share - Check
If you're not good at conversations think of some questions before hand - Check
Give lots of Hi-fives - Check
Have the date in public - Check
Plan location, time and activity before (hint: women worry about what to wear and how much to get ready) - Check
Why do these things setup you up for sending the message of looking for eternal companionship . Could you get to know each other and build a relationship by going to a movie? NO! Could you find out if there is any connection by going to a Justin Beiber concert? YES, but that's like gambling. Taking a girl you don't know, out on a date spending $40-$80+ bucks on her is like gambling. If it doesn't work out though no worries you have plenty of money and you could go on like 5 more dates like this every month right? Yeah no biggie! After spending $200+ a month on dating you tell me. I realize that maybe you don't go on 5+ dates a month. Maybe you can spend a large sum of money on dates, you're totally open to choosing. But lets be honest how many people do you know who married the first person they dated? Did it work out? RIGHT!
Men shouldn't hesitate to treat a woman from time to time but make sure it's the right woman to treat! Notice I didn't say spend lots of money. I said treat them so they know they are special!
